Central African RepublicThe ICC field office in Bangui was inaugurated on 18 October 2007. In order to ensure that an outreach team is permanently established there as soon as possible, the Court is recruiting an outreach coordinator in Bangui. In the meantime, the Outreach Unit in The Hague is establishing initial contact with local civil society.

The information an outreach campaign in the Central African Republic was initiated in late 2007. It has already enabled the organisation of information exchange activities in Bangui, which saw the participation of journalists, first-line media representatives and representatives of key Central African civil society groups such as lawyers, NGOs and victims’ associations, religious denominations and trade Unions.

Lastly, by organising a participatory workshop, the Court’s Outreach Unit involves the Central African civil society in designing outreach plans tailored to suit the specific context of the Central African Republic.
