Hearings

The hearings of the International Criminal Court are generally open to the public, unless the Chamber orders a closed session. For more information, we recommend consulting the hearing schedule. Please note that in the interests of public order, under-sixteen-year-olds are not allowed in the Court building.  We also recommend reading the rules related to visits to the Court (below).

What does a visit consist of?

The public gallery seats 75 persons. Seats are allocated according to the order of precedence and arrival at the Court. You may stay until the end of the hearing.

Simultaneous interpretation into English and French is available during hearings. Headphones are available to the public for this purpose.

How to proceed?

Just go to the entrance of the Court (no need to fill in a form beforehand). Any person entering the Court building will have to pass through the security checks and present valid identification (passport, identity card or driving licence).

Rules:

While in the premises of the Court all visitors are required to respect the rules of behavior.
